A Little About Me
I believe that so much of our emotional well-being comes down to the quality of our relationships, not only with the people around us, but also with ourselves.
Many of us find ourselves stuck in patterns we don’t fully understand. We might withdraw when things get difficult, distract ourselves to avoid uncomfortable feelings, become easily frustrated, or have the same painful arguments with the people we love. Often, these patterns develop long before we recognize them, shaped by our earliest relationships, past experiences, and the ways we’ve learned to protect ourselves.
My work focuses on helping individuals and couples understand these patterns and begin creating something different.
I have a particular interest in relationships, attachment, emotional intimacy, and the ways our past experiences influence how we connect in the present. Whether you’re struggling with recurring conflict, feeling disconnected from your partner, navigating infidelity, experiencing difficulties with intimacy, or simply feeling stuck in your own life, I aim to provide a space where you can explore these challenges openly and without judgment.
I also work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, anger, and emotional avoidance. Sometimes the things we do to cope, whether that’s withdrawing, staying constantly distracted, or numbing ourselves, can eventually become the very things keeping us from the lives and relationships we want.
My approach combines a deeper exploration of your experiences with practical strategies for meaningful change. I’m trained in EMDR and draw on attachment-informed and psychodynamic perspectives to help clients understand how their past continues to influence their present.
I believe that conflict doesn’t have to mean disconnection, that our past doesn’t have to define our future, and that meaningful change begins when we feel safe enough to understand ourselves more honestly.
Ultimately, my goal is to help you develop a healthier relationship with yourself, build deeper connections with others, and find a greater sense of peace in your life.
Education, Credentials & Professional Experience
I hold a Master's degree from Yorkville University and a Bachelor's degree from Concordia University, where I majored in Psychology.
My professional background also includes training through the Justice Institute of British Columbia as a Registered Probation Officer, providing me with valuable experience in understanding human behaviour, navigating complex interpersonal dynamics, and supporting individuals through challenging circumstances.
I have also volunteered with Parent Support Services in Burnaby, where I facilitated group support circles for parents experiencing distress and navigating the emotional challenges of raising children. This experience deepened my appreciation for the importance of attachment, emotional connection, and the ways our own experiences shape how we relate to others.
In addition to my formal education, I have pursued specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Gottman-informed approaches to couples therapy. These approaches complement my interest in helping individuals and couples understand their emotional patterns, process difficult experiences, improve communication, and build healthier, more secure relationships.
Together, my education, professional experience, and additional training inform a compassionate, relationship-focused approach to counselling that recognizes the profound influence of our past experiences on how we connect with ourselves and others today.
